Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. (TESOL) Look up this organization, they are all over the world and once you complete their training, they have contracts waiting for you to sign, (Get your passport organized) and you are off to any country that you choose.

Tara...what makes you think there arent good english teachers in India? Many Indians speak much better English than the English do themselves. There are SSC schools in Hindi medium and English is taught as a second language. There are many qualified English teachers over there so if you want to go to teach English you will have to get a B.Ed. You can go over there and do social work...why not go to Calcutta to Sister Theresas place and help out there. You could also go and help the Street Children as my daughter's best friend does and she is a fully qualified degree holder educated in India.

If you are serious in this commitment, get accredition through humanitarium organisations in your country. What paper qualification you do have will stand you in good stead if you wish to be accepted and at the same time receive some forms of remuneration. You need money to live even in third world countries.

They don't care if you have a degree or not for the most part. And you can always teach night school there.

The scheme is to get your education first./
