I have a short time to get both tests in before my provisional credential expires....wonder how much study time I should commit to the first test as opposed to the second

The Praxis I is a general knowledge test. It's basic reading, math, essay etc. If you are in any way intelligent, you shouldn't have to study for it. I also took it at a computer facility and I would also recommend that. You're by yourself and you get through the test much quicker without all the "housekeeping" that goes on with a proctored classroom session.

The Praxis 1 is much more difficult to pass than the Praxis 2, the Praxis 1 is similar to the SAT and contains an essay part, I recommend taking the test at a computer testing facility.
it's me!

I don't know if you scored well on your high school SAT, but if you did, you could be exempt from taking the PRAXIS I. I was exempt from it, but I don't remember what the qualifying SAT score was. Plus, I went through this almost 7 years ago.

It's worth checking out though if it can exempt you!
