My 6 year old son is filipino and needs to learn english. What is the best way to teach him? Is there a carttoon series?

hi! im also a filipino, im a female and i am studying education in manila.i guess you could help your son by always talking to him in english, and let other people talk to him in that way too. encourage your son to read, listen and watch english songs, books, or movies. in that way, he would be more exposed to words in english. and don't mind it much if he starts speaking wrongly, it's just the start. anyway, don't lose hope he'll develop that with practice.

Either your or your son (or both!) makes an account, and then enroll FOR FREE in an English 101 or 102 I think , class.

It is very nice, and they have many exercises to help.



And...maybe get berlitz flash cards and try to go over them with him. but very playfully! Not too serious or he will get so bored and not want to.



Besides this, maybe like when my friend was trying to learn Mandarin Chinese for a trip to Taiwan, she labeled EVERYTHING in her house in mandarin. If you wanted (but it might not be what you want,) yo ucould label everything in English so that he could learn faster also :P

i have a sister who is 4 years old and knows how to speak english. we did not teach her, she just learned it when she hears us conversing in english dialect and the most thing that influence her to speak english is watching cartoons in play house disney channel:)
