if so what do these australian teachers fear.

the right of students to say what they feel about unreasonable ethics to me it is outright sensorship our freedom of speach is now violated..due to sloppy teaching ethics

They didn't have such a thing when I was in school, but now that it exists, yes, it would be censorship if you aren't allowed to access it. Since no "one" post will likely get a teacher canned, then the teachers should not be afraid of getting rated on this site, Australian or otherwise.

How would you feel if teachers did the same to you? Posted nasty comments about you, true or not, on the internet for all to see, especially when it came time to get a job or get into college. I have had many colleagues suggest that this should not be allowed unless we also had a RateMyStudents.com.



We have had RateMyProfessors.com (or RateMyTeachers.com) for years in the States, and while I know that teachers consult it to find out which professors' classes to take, I constantly hear that they were surprised to find that the teacher was nothing like their rating. I know of people who have posted their own ratings or have had their spouses post false ones about them, and I know of people who have lost jobs because of the comments of one or two angry students. There is a LOT to fear, even for the best of teachers.

yeah...they should definitely be looked at if they taught you how to write...
