I am about to take the Praxis I tomorrow and am nervous. I have been doing practice tests all day but am still nervous. Is it hard like the SATs or not so hard?

I took the Praxis this past March. I took two exams that dealt with early childhood education. It was an all day event to take both tests. It was a lot of writing and multiple choice. If you are confident in your area of concentration and have listened to basic information given during lectures in your classes, you will do fine. I was nervous and scared like yourself but once I took the tests, I was amazed at how much I knew. If you have been doing the practice tests, you really will be set to go! Just get a good nights rest and eat a good breakfast before the test!
Good luck! You will do well!

I took the praxis 6 years ago, and I didn't find it difficult. Most of the questions deal with your area. I am an art teacher, so the questions asked were about art: process, content knowledge, and technique. After 5 years of art school, I felt pretty confident on most of the answers. There will always be obscure questions you won't know, but the your score allows for that. You only need a certain score to pass. Don't be nervous. Just go with your first gut reaction, you know, it's usually right! Good Luck!

I have taken the Texas equivalent of the Praxis and all I will say is, when answering your question, think of what you would do in an ideal world. It is not hard, just keep your cool and all will be well. Do let us know of the outcome.
Good Luck.

I just received my passing notice from the Praxis 1. The test was not hard at all. Just be prepared to pace yourself and don't spend so much time on each math problem that you don't get them all answered. You'll be fine.

I really didn't find it hard. The reading is much easier than the ACT... for example, you only have to read a short paragraph and then answer questions rather than read a whole page or two. Also, there is a grammar section, which is really easy, you just have to say what's wrong with the sentence. The math is very basic as well. I honestly wouldn't worry about it.... as long as you did ok in high school math and english, you shouldn't have trouble passing.

The PRAXIS is mind-numbingly easy. Perhaps if it were as difficult as the qualifying tests engineers and doctors must take then we would be able to move forward in education. But if you thought the SAT was hard. . .
