My teacher sent a letter home today about missing a homework and it really ******* me off. I'm doing my A-levels at the moment and I'm 17 so to get a letter sent to my mum was a bit ridiculous in my books.

My mum was just as angry they did this as me and is telling me to confront the teacher because she knows how hard I work; I work most nights for about 3 hours after school to try and finish everything.

I'm a bit apprehensive about confronted the teacher about this though as you can probably tell he isn't the easiest person to talk to. The most annoying thing is I could have gone to college this year where they wouldn't treat me this way I'm sure and it feels like they think of me as a small child.

What should I do..?

If you missed a homework then I can't see why you're so angry. In the future maybe you could arrange an extension if you can't get work done on time.

I'm a teacher and there's a lot of pressure on us that you probably don't realise. Maybe your teacher was just "covering his back". What I mean by this is, when my student doesn't get the grade he was meant to get and my boss comes to my door asking questions, I have to show evidence that I have done everything possible to help every student. Letters home are part of this evidence.

I wouldn't take it personally. Obviously I might be wrong and your teacher might be an idiot who gets kicks out of getting people in trouble. If this is the case just ignore him.

You're right about college. It's very different to being at school. I think 6th form is just the same as Year 11.

Hope this makes sense and I hope you sort it out!

If this is just one letter, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I would ask the teacher exactly what you are missing and just complete that assignment. The teacher may have just written letters to all students that are missing assignments, and to not favor anyone, wrote one to you even if you are an A student and missed a few assignments. If this is the case, let it go. Don't make a big deal about this.

If you are truly missing numerous assignments, even as an A student, you still need to do your work. The teacher is just showing concern that your lack of completing assignments can adversely affect your grade.

Was this letters addressed to your mother or was it a form letter that the teacher sent home to all the parents?

I you are SURE that you have turned in all the assignments I'd ask the teacher about it. Mention to them that you thought you had turned in all the assigned work. Ask them which assignments you are missing. Act like you are really concerned.

Two things might happen. The teacher will admit that you have turned in all your work and the note did not apply to you OR you will see that there might have been an assignment that you forgot to turn in.

He may have been doing you a favor by bringing up the issue, as those extra points may benefit you in some way, and he seems to be willing to give them to you.

I had a situation like that once. Those few extra points changed my grade from a B to an A.

It sucks, would not it? comparable challenge for me! My maths instructor particularly is shifting me down, I would desire to talk to the pinnacle instructor and that i'm getting a telephone call and letters and it is going on my record. He additionally advised me to drown myself and not come to college however the instructor's do no longer even care, they're on his ingredient. What you're able to do is unquestionably no longer communicate, It sounds demanding, yet purely enable persons do their element. there's a achieveable reason he would think of your extra effective than the others so he is going demanding, or he's purely particularly stupid.
